About the photograph:
On the banks of the Ganges, near Haridwar, a group of young boys climb and hang from a large fallen tree, turned into an improvised playground. Around them, the sacred river stretches across a vast, silent bed of sand, bathed in a white, almost mystical light.
I sought to balance the choreography of their silhouettes along the diagonal of the trunk, a living line that connects their bodies and seems to echo the flow of the river itself.
It is a simple image, a suspended moment, where India reveals its humanity along that fragile border between the sacred and the everyday.
